POV: Poor Southern Farmer

Once the South seceded from the North, I wasn’t very surprised. I had expected this, and one of my sons volunteered to join the war. I expected the war to be over soon. The British were bound to join our side; we supplied them with cotton, something that was very vital for their economy. Our generals are top-notch, it was impossible for us to lose; our generals had fought in the Mexican War and had way more experience.
